A watercolour of a Saxon house seen from the corner: the white façade has a large brick-pink gable with plaster fallen away in patches, and the roof is of sheet metal in two tones — pink-violet above, intense blue on the right slope. Beneath the eave a wooden gallery with yellow and blue doors opens onto the yard, and a wooden ladder leans against the wall. An iron fence with a gate runs in front, and the foreground is a raw green lawn painted in rapid strokes. The sky is pale blue. The colour is lively and transparent, with contours drawn firmly in nearly dry brush.
