The Dance of the Birds

A black-and-white graphic composition divided into two registers. At the left a vertical white band holds three small dark forms, like birds or figures, and a densely hatched vertical zone. At the right the surface is filled entirely with black angular forms — triangles, broken wings, arcs — overlapping and interlocking without leaving empty space, in a rhythm that suggests continuous movement. The contrast is absolute: there are no intermediate tones, only black and white. The work is known from a period black-and-white photograph, and its year remains to be confirmed.
