Eight orange-yellow quinces lie on a blue-violet drape falling in broad folds over a cream-pink table; two of the fruits still have green leaves attached to their stalks, and one is cut, its white flesh turned towards the viewer. The fruits are modelled in short strokes of yellow, orange and ochre, with violet shadows at their base, so that the complementaries touch directly. The background is a vertical surface in bands of cream, pink and pale green, broadly treated. The composition is simple and centred; all the tension comes from the orange-violet contrast, sustained without transition.

Painted in the studio on Ion Creangă Street 15, Ploiești — the still lifes and flower pieces from 1984 onwards were made there. Established by the family, August 2026.
