Geranium in a Pot

A geranium with bright red flowers stands in a green-glazed clay pot set in a reddish-brown dish; slender stems rise vertically with round green leaves painted one by one. Beside it on the table are a brass pot with a tall handle, a yellow quince, a green apple and a red one, and at the left a pale vegetable. Behind, a folded white cloth falls over an olive-green drape, and a red stick leans vertically at the right. The work takes up the motif of "Geranium" again, but with more light and with fruit added.
The artist’s last finished work, dedicated to his granddaughter, Catrinel · Painted in the studio on Ion Creangă Street 15, Ploiești — the still lifes and flower pieces from 1984 onwards were made there. Established by the family, August 2026.
