Landscape at Cornu

A horizontal watercolour, quickly worked, with two aligned houses: one at the left with a brick-red roof and a façade left as bare paper, a smaller one at the right with the same roof, half hidden by a blue-green bush. Between and around them, wet patches of green, blue and ochre suggest trees, fences and slope without describing anything in detail. The sky is a beige-grey wash, and the lower band stays almost empty, with a few blue strokes marking the ground. Signature and title are written in pencil at the lower left; the procedure is that of a rapid note made on the spot.
