A two-storey structure occupies the centre: below, a white house with blue windows and a dark door; above, a wooden hayloft with cracked plank walls and a long roof that juts far forward. A smaller outbuilding with a rusty metal roof adjoins at the right. At the left a conical stack of poles and maize stalks rises beside a wattle fence, and behind, the hills close in dense blue-green under a greenish-beige sky. The foreground is an almost empty yellow-green yard. The touch is dry and laid in thin layers; the whole work is held in a cool chord of green and grey in which the white of the house becomes the centre of light.
In the catalogue of the 2002 exhibition it appears as “Casă cu șură” (about 41 × 59 cm).
