Trees in Bloom

A row of blossoming trees crosses the canvas horizontally, their crowns built from thick white and cream patches applied one by one over slender blackish-brown trunks. Behind them the hill spreads as a blue-grey mass with brick-red accents at its base, and above, the sky is a silvery grey surface cut by a warm salmon-pink streak. The foreground is grey-green ground in horizontal strokes. The contrast is simple and effective: the white of the blossom against the cool blue of the hill, with the pink of the sky linking the two.
