Two trees with silvery white crowns, built from thick slabs of white, blue and grey-green paint, spread across the whole width of the canvas on slender dark trunks. The background is a warm brick-pink and ochre surface rising to the upper edge, with no distinct sky. At the right three conical orange-ochre haystacks line up beside a plank fence, and the foreground is an olive-green strip. The warm-cool contrast — silver crowns against a pink ground — is the work's only device, used to the full.
